For over a decade journalists and investigators were unable to report from Damascus. Then, over two days in December 2024, everything changed. This panel will hear the experiences of Syrian journalists who had reported on the conflict in exile and from investigators who were amongst the first to enter the city after the fall of the Assad government. What did they see in those initial two weeks, what did they find and how did it feel to be able to talk freely, for the first time for many years, about Syria?
