Motaz Azaiza, born in 1999 in Gaza, is an award-winning Palestinian photojournalist. His images have garnered global recognition, with millions of followers across his social media platforms. As an active photojournalist during the latest phase of the conflict in Gaza, Motaz's photos have shed light on the hardships endured by Palestinians.

Azaiza has become a beacon of hope and resilience for many in Palestine and around the world, using his experiences to shed light on the hardships endured by Palestinians during the years-long blockade of Gaza, and more recently amidst the ongoing war. Motaz's impact transcends borders and has earned him accolades such as the GQ Magazine Middle East “Man of the Year” Award, recognising his capacity to speak for those whose stories are often unheard.

In 2023, one of Motaz's photos secured a spot in TIME magazine's Top 10 Photos, a testament to the power of visual storytelling and the importance of sharing narratives that capture the struggle for human rights.

Azaiza further received the “Communicator Award” at the TRT World Citizen Awards 2023, highlighting Motaz's commitment to communication and advocacy through relaying real-time updates from Gaza to his audience of over 19 million followers.

Motaz was also recognised at the Lucie Awards, where he was honoured as the “2023 Impact Awards Winner”. This further acknowledgment underscores the role Motaz has played in changing global public opinion about the Palestinian cause and illuminating the harsh realities faced by his people in Gaza.
