Join us for a dynamic session on the challenges and opportunities emerging as USAID funding for journalism ends.

Led by Lars Boering, Director of the European Journalism Centre (EJC), which has extensive experience supporting and strengthening European journalism, the session is designed to inspire and inform about solutions and opportunities in journalism. Where do we go from here?

The session is not meant to be a classic set-up of panellists on stage but to have two or three statements to be made and involve the people attending the session as additional panel members.  Like a fishbowl: transparent, open, and somewhat like family therapy.

Participants include Sharon Moshavi, President of the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), known for her expertise in media innovation and global journalism initiatives; Alinda Vermeer, Executive Director of the Limelight Foundation, which supports independent journalism and civil society organisations; Peter Erdelyi, a seasoned expert in media development; and Mira Milosevic, Executive Director of the Global Forum for Media Development (GFMD), who has a deep understanding of journalism support and media development challenges.

Together, they will explore media organisations' pressing challenges in this new financial landscape and discuss innovative strategies for adapting and thriving. This session promises to be a rich exchange of ideas and insights, offering attendees actionable strategies for navigating the future of journalism.

The audience is invited to join in and contribute realism, optimism and constructive solutions.

Organised by the European Journalism Centre.
