Abdi Latif Dahir is the East Africa Correspondent for The New York Times. He was previously the regional reporter for Quartz and the United Press International and has covered everything from geopolitics and fashion to literature and technology for publications including Al Jazeera, The Guardian, The Africa Report, Kenya’s Daily Nation newspaper and more. He was a 2018 Dag Hammarskjöld fellow at the United Nations and holds a master of art degree from Columbia University.
