Ahmad Abu Hamad is Media for Development Lead at Aljazeera Media Institute. A meta-journalist and researcher with extensive experience in media, human rights, and public diplomacy, he oversees projects supporting independent media in conflict-affected and economically challenged areas. His role involves strategic planning, advocacy, and fostering partnerships across the Global South to promote media independence and development. As a trainer, he has led workshops on communication in the humanitarian NGOs, refugee stories, and election coverage.
He has worked between Europe and the Middle East; He holds a Master’s in Media and Communication Studies from Lund University and a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication from Yarmouk University.
