Jennifer Athanasiou-Prins is the Executive Director of the European Press Prize. Through celebrating journalistic excellence, the European Press Prize strives to be the hallmark for independent quality journalism in Europe. By celebrating, facilitating peer-to-peer exchanges, and fostering connections among journalists and other actors in the journalism field, the European Press Prize aims to empower journalists and bolster their resilience to continue fulfilling their vital role in upholding democratic values.
Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with honours as well as a Master of Laws degree in Dutch civil law from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She specialises in organisational development, governance, and building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders all over Europe. She is passionate about strengthening good governance and enhancing organisational frameworks. Due to her bi-cultural background, Jennifer is an advocate of pursuing cultural sensitivity, especially in European and international collaborations.
