Kate Gibson

Kate Gibson is a lawyer and the President of the Association of Defence Counsel practicing before the International Courts and Tribunals. She has been appearing before international courts for twenty years, representing accused from Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cambodia, Sierra Leone and the former Yugoslavia, including former Vice-President of the DRC Jean-Pierre Bemba, former President of Liberia Charles Taylor, former President of the Republika Srpška Radovan Karadžić, and former President of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi. She also represents Rohingya victims in the Bangladesh/Myanmar situation before the ICC and was appointed as a Legal Consultant to the UN Independent International Fact-Finding Mission for Myamnar, in Geneva. She holds an LL.M in International Law from Cambridge University.
