Nino Macharashvili

Nino Macharashvili is the co-founder and director of ForSet, a data-driven communications organization based in Tbilisi, Georgia. She is a founding supervisory board member of the Georgian AI Association (GAIA) and previously worked as a data journalist and projects coordinator at JumpStart Georgia. Nino also co-founded and served as the first president of the Digital Communication Network, a community of digital professionals dedicated to tackling challenges to democracy.

Nino holds a BA in Journalism and an MA in Creative and Media Enterprises. She is the founder of DataFest Tbilisi, the first annual international data conference in the South Caucasus, where she brings together data enthusiasts from across disciplines. With a keen focus on the intersection of technology and media, Nino has co-authored tech tools to combat disinformation, improve access to information, and foster audience engagement. She has also conducted research on the use of personal data in elections in Georgia.
