Seema Yasmin

Seema Yasmin is an Emmy Award–winning journalist who was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, a medical doctor, professor, and poet. She is the author of five books of non-fiction and poetry including her new book What the Fact?: Finding the Truth in All the Noise (Simon & Schuster, 2022), a guide for teens navigating the murky worlds of misinformation and disinformation.

Seema studied medicine at Cambridge University and was a disease detective with the U.S. federal government’s Epidemic Intelligence Service. She is director of the Stanford Health Communication Initiative, clinical assistant professor of medicine at Stanford University and visiting assistant professor of crisis communications and leadership at UCLA. Her reporting appears in the New York Times, WIRED, Scientific American, and on CNN and the BBC. Scientific American, among others.
