Taylor Lorenz

Taylor Lorenz is the founder of User Magazine, a technology and online culture newsletter, and host of the weekly tech podcast Power User.

She is the bestselling author of the book Extremely Online: The Untold Story of Fame, Influence, and Power on the Internet, which NYT named one of the must read books of fall 2023.

Taylor was previously a technology columnist at The Washington Post, a technology reporter for the New York Times business section, a technology reporter at the Atlantic and the Daily Beast.

In 2019, Taylor was a Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, where her research focused on Instagram and news consumption. She is also a former affiliate at Harvard's Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society. Lorenz also serves on the board of the Alliance for Technology, Learning and Society (ATLAS) Institute at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
