Adie Vanessa Offiong is an award-winning journalist based in Lagos, Nigeria, with experience in cross border reporting, investigative, science and development journalism. She is currently a producer with CNN’s Features team. Prior to that, she was a reporter at CNN’s As Equals team, a series that aims to reveal what systemic gender inequality looks like. While in that role, she reported on maternal health challenges among displaced women in Nigeria’s north and also what life is like for Nigeria’s queer women seeking love online, in addition to other stories.

Her works have been published by the British Medical Journal blog, Africa in Fact journal of Good Governance Africa, the International Health Policy newsletter of the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp, Zam Chronicles, Mail & Guardian, the International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR), Daily Trust. She has received several recognitions for her work including the Africa Media Development Foundation (AMDF) Journalists of the Year Award for her story Abuja communities where girls are raped en route school, and emerging the only female finalist of the Continental Journalism Awards on the African Union Charter, for her story Twists, turns of Benin Republic’s Election.
