Kelly Walls is the Executive Director of The Guardian Foundation, whose purpose is to promote global press freedom and access to liberal journalism.
Kelly is a dedicated advocate of quality, independent journalism as an essential element of democratic society. Her focus is on addressing the needs for news literacy and a more diverse and accessible media industry that has the capacity to thrive in today’s challenging landscape. She has led the Foundation since 2019 to advance their vision of a world where people have access to reliable information, from a diverse range of sources, strengthening their ability to hold power to account.
Prior to leading The Guardian Foundation, Kelly began her career in data and insight before joining the Guardian to drive major change and transformation programmes, furthering their strategic goals.
